August 2016:  Get Your Glow On!

Glow is back!  This opportunity allows you to add one of 11 great glow colors to your design at no additional cost!  The use of glow relies heavily on your design parameters.  Wide open spaces (like a big moon) will work much better than small spots (like eyes or small lettering).  If we are unable to accommodate glow in your design you will be notified when your blueprint is posted.  Pick your glow color on the "Glow" tab during the ordering process.

Pacific Lamprey Challenge

When the US Fish and Wildlife Department wanted to create a challenge cache series to educate the public about the Pacific Lamprey, they wanted to give participants something to remember the experience by.  They were looking for a gift that would be meaningful to Geocachers, but which is available on a budget.  They selected Pathtags!

The only way to get their beautiful tag is by completeing the cache series, located just Southwest of Olympia, Washington.

Here are all six mystery cache sites:

The overall goals of this program are:
  • Educate the public about the Pacific Lamprey
  • Educate the public about the Chehalis River Basin and the partners working to conserve/restore it.
  • Connect People With Nature via geocaching

Walton Robotics FIRST Team 2974 Pathtag

FIRST is a nonprofit organization founded by famed inventor Dean Kamen to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers among young people. The vehicle for making this happen is a program of competitive robotics tournaments for children as young as Kindergarten through high school.

In 2013, Walton Robotics Team 2974 decided to do something special to leave a lasting impression on the people they "crossed paths with" at their competition.  They created a Pathtag to give to other attendees!

Lisa Malice, one of the team's mentors, said "The pathtags were a big hit with the students because it was a unique give-away and because of the creative approach to spreading our message. Geocachers I met loved it, but the muggle families I talked with were really intrigued! We are starting to see log ins pop up on our tag map, including the ones I sent to Australia and Oregon to collectors who agreed to place them in geocaches."

Pathtags in Texas State Parks

Texas State Parks is bringing a fun and challenging geocaching activity to adventure seekers and beginners alike.  The Statewide Texas State Parks Geocache Challenge kicked off earlier this summer and has been very popular, with more than 2,500 logged finds in just two short months; awards include geocoins and limited edition Pathtags.  In addition to the Geocache Challenge awards, a series of commemorative, park-themed Pathtags will be introduced for purchase in September at many Texas State Park Stores.  These Pathtags will become part of an exciting mix of products already available for sale to help commemorate your park visit; you'll find items such as patches, hiking stick medallions, t-shirts, and more.  Read the full article for more details on how Pathtags are being used to attract visitors and reward participation in their park programs, as well as for a list of parks who will have custom Pathtags for purchase in their shops!

"Just Got My Tags I Love them!!!!!!!!"

Team KOS crew

"I really thought I had asked for the impossible with my latest tag. The detail and colors were breathtaking; would the real thing be the same? They were even better! The glitter jumps off the tag and electrifies all the tiny details and motion going on! How you manage, time and time again to create such detail in such a tiny space....well.....WOW! The tag was designed by one of your aspiring partners....Flash Tags....and I am ecstatic at what she created and you brought to life! Thank you. "

"I got my tag about the time I was expecting it and was really impressed with how it looks. I can't wait to start trading. "

T-Hunter

"We spent so much time worrying about how this was going to look. Completely unnecessary as the path tags look great. Amazed at the amount of detail on such a small space. Now I wish we would have ordered a lot more of them. Thanks. J & K"

"I received my first ever pathtag today and when I received my parcel I was so excited! I love my tag, it is exactly the way I pictured it and more."

"When I found my first Pathtag in a cache I didn't know what it was, but soon found out by going to pathtags.com. After seeing the amazing tags produced, I decided to have my own made, and your production staff did an amazing job with all the detail. I am so pleased with the final Pathtag. I know this will not be my only Pathtag."

DoubleTrouble

"I received my tags the day I left for our church camp for a week. Luckily my parents also work at the camp and were leaving later so they were able to check the mail and brought them to me. The tags turned out great. I gave out a couple to friends that were working the camp that were also Geocachers. I left camp for a little while on a couple of the days to find a couple of local caches and I put one of the tags out in the wild in Buda, TX. We asked the camp director for permission to place a cache outside the gate of the camp and it was granted. Three of us got together and put together a small cache and I placed one of the tags there as well. I can't wait to share them with my fellow Geocachers around home."

"What a great surprise in the mail today. My third pathtag. You guys rock on the production side. It seems like I just ordered it last week. Thanks"

B-Hive

"This is my second Pathtag made and the first I designed. It's incredible how much detail is put into these tags. When you think about all the work that goes into making these tags it's amazing how little you pay for them! "
