Walton Robotics FIRST Team 2974 Pathtag

FIRST is a nonprofit organization founded by famed inventor Dean Kamen to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers among young people. The vehicle for making this happen is a program of competitive robotics tournaments for children as young as Kindergarten through high school.

In 2013, Walton Robotics Team 2974 decided to do something special to leave a lasting impression on the people they "crossed paths with" at their competition.  They created a Pathtag to give to other attendees!

Lisa Malice, one of the team's mentors, said "The pathtags were a big hit with the students because it was a unique give-away and because of the creative approach to spreading our message. Geocachers I met loved it, but the muggle families I talked with were really intrigued! We are starting to see log ins pop up on our tag map, including the ones I sent to Australia and Oregon to collectors who agreed to place them in geocaches."

"Tags arrived yesterday and they far exceed my expectations. Absolutely beautiful job. I designed these as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law and they were thrilled. Thanks, Pathtags."

"I was very pleased with how this tag turned out. The snow is glitter and is very subtle. My Clydesdale, Ransom, was the model for this tag. J and J did a great job for us!"

"I knew when I submitted my artwork that my Jedi Council tag would be a tricky one as I really didn't expect minting so much detail to be possible. But I was pleasantly surprised and continue to be impressed with the job done on these tags. Thanks for the great job you do! ~earthrooster"

"Hi I received my tags today, very happy with how they turned out, a little better than i thought they were going to, seems others like them too as I am receiving a lot of trade requests, almost no tags left lol May have to order a refill soon ;) many thanks!!"

"I brought up my Japanese Manhole Series on the forums just to see if there was an interest. WHOA!! I wasn't ready for all the Kudos and WANTS I received. I've got the first two in for production and 3 more ready to go! Getting initial feedback from my peers was an inspiration and motivator to get my series in the works! As Fakk2 put it, "A manhole cover is nothing but a pathtag on steroids!" THANK YOU one and all!"

"Thank you so very much to Pathtags and the designer of the tag, Sunset Tags. The wonderful art of the tag is incredible. This tag is so much better than we had expected. We had fast service from both Pathtags and Sunset Tags. The detail of the work is awesome, and we are proud to leave this signature tag in the geocaches we find. "

"Wow! My latest tags arrived today & I am really impressed with how they turned out... but then again, I have generally found that my tags exceed expectations. It's always great to come home & find a Pathtag parcel waiting for me! Thanks."

"ROCKY GLEN GROMMETS received their first of two tags in the mail today and they are wicked! Midnightgothicangel has done an amazing job - so good in fact that we've just ordered another 4 designs she's created for us. The Groms are going to be SO excited when they get home from school. Bob Grom is a member of our family at RGG (we picked him up out of a cache on the Eyre Peninsula (Australia))"
