Pacific Lamprey Challenge

When the US Fish and Wildlife Department wanted to create a challenge cache series to educate the public about the Pacific Lamprey, they wanted to give participants something to remember the experience by.  They were looking for a gift that would be meaningful to Geocachers, but which is available on a budget.  They selected Pathtags!

The only way to get their beautiful tag is by completeing the cache series, located just Southwest of Olympia, Washington.

Here are all six mystery cache sites:

The overall goals of this program are:

Walton Robotics FIRST Team 2974 Pathtag

FIRST is a nonprofit organization founded by famed inventor Dean Kamen to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers among young people. The vehicle for making this happen is a program of competitive robotics tournaments for children as young as Kindergarten through high school.

In 2013, Walton Robotics Team 2974 decided to do something special to leave a lasting impression on the people they "crossed paths with" at their competition.  They created a Pathtag to give to other attendees!

Lisa Malice, one of the team's mentors, said "The pathtags were a big hit with the students because it was a unique give-away and because of the creative approach to spreading our message. Geocachers I met loved it, but the muggle families I talked with were really intrigued! We are starting to see log ins pop up on our tag map, including the ones I sent to Australia and Oregon to collectors who agreed to place them in geocaches."

"I received my very first Pathtag today and I am just thrilled! Your staff was exceptional in working with me to get the design just right before it went in to production and I received my tag less than 4 weeks after having submitted the final blueprint. I couldn't be happier and have two others in production right now that I can't wait to receive!"

MizzGrizz

"I just want to say a huge THANK YOU! for the way you helped me with my first tag. I submitted my first design a few days ago and it obviously had a lot of problems, but you guys worked on it and made it so it can go into production. I was sure you will reject it first hand but instead you put so much time into it to make it work - I don't know how to thank you. You guys are awesome! Thank you so much!"

"I can't tell you how happy I am with my set of travel pathtags. They are very special souvenirs of some great journeys I have been fortunate to take, and when I look at them I am flooded with wonderful memories! Thank you for taking Pathman's fabulous designs and bringing them to life. "

"I'm always amazed when I get a new order of Pathtags but you really blew me away with this one! I can't believe the amazing amount of detail these little tags have! You have an awesome product and great customer support! I'm a total Pathtag addict and will definitely be ordering more!"

sunsetmeadowlark

"I just got my set of tags today, and they are perfect! I was a little worried about the detail showing up, or the colors being off, or something, but everything looks great. There is a neat contrast between the dolphin with its gray enamel and silver silhouette of the diver, all surrounded by a beautiful sea of translucent blue. I can't help holding and admiring my new tags!"

fuzziebear3

"I received my starter kit today and immediately ordered an additional 100 tags. I could not believe the quality, craftsmanship and detail at such an affordable price. These will definately catch the eye of any geocacher that finds one, even more so once I get one into a Pathtag Sherpa geocoin. Thanks for another hobby !"

FindrzKeeprz

"I LOVE how this tag came out! The red lettering looks just like I wanted it to, and the white chainsaw seems to just pop out! This is the most detailed tag I've submitted, and it works very well for the dark atmosphere I wanted. "
