As a child I grew up about two hours upstream from Lake Hume. Whenever we travelled to Albury-Wodonga for appointments or shopping, my sister and I always liked to look out for waterbirds such as Black Swans and Pelicans on the lake as we crossed, and arriving at Lake Hume was a sign we were close to Albury.

So in choosing something for an Oz Mega tag for 2012, the Australian Black Swan (Cygnus atratus) was a great idea from our son. They are beautiful graceful birds, commonly found in waterways of south eastern Australia, and their cygnets are preety cute too. The initial idea and a lot of the execution are due to our clever son, thanks C!

I'm very keen to trade this at the coming Mega, and I will be happy after the event to look at trades in Australia. I may consider some wishlist requests from overseas, but often the cost of postage makes me think twice.
