As we are getting low on this tag, we prefer to reserve it for stained glass trades - at least until the club is over.
Our trip to Egypt was one of the most exciting I've been on. The grandeur, the history, the art and culture - absolutely amazing. I could not resist this design by Pathtags ChussAna. We added the words "be between" to represent the ancient Egyptian blessing "God be between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk."
The vibrant life of the Nile valley is bracketed by sheer emptiness. You haven't seen empty until you've seen the Egyptian desert. The blessing echoes with meaning, and I can only imagine how much it meant to people living in that setting. Of course, I could be getting it all wrong . . . maybe their "empty places" connoted a specific concept in their ancient religion. No matter! I like what the blessing means to me, today, in my culture, and I hope you like it too.
