This tag was a big hit at GWIX and we traded them all away.

This is the JonesPosse GWIX tag for trade at the event in Pennsylvania this July. It is our version of a hex sign. Hex signs are prevelant throughout Pennsylvania and can be seen on buildings along the highways and biways of Pennsylvania Dutch country. Thanks to Dada Dacia for the great artwork!

The symbolism is quite fascinating, art as their own language - the signs can be interpreted.  


Rosette (the pointed design in the center) - symbol for good luck, sometimes they are 12 petals to reinforce the luck 12 months of the year
Trinity Tulips - three petals for faith, hope & charity or faith in yourself, faith in what you do & faith in your fellow man. (9 in all for GWIX)
Heart - true or lasting love, love for others
Scalloped edges symbolize smooth sailing in life (but these are pointed, so they may be construed as star tips, which is energy or harmony)
Colors:
  • Black - protection, also used to blend or bind elements together
  • Blue - protection, peace, calmness and spirituality
  • Brown - mother earth, also can mean friendship and strength
  • Green - growth, fertility, success in things and ideas that grow
  • Orange - abundance in career, projects and matters needing an added push
  • Red - emotions, passion, charisma, lust and also creativity
  • Violet - things that are sacred
  • White - purity, power of the moon, allows energy to flow freely
  • Yellow - health in body and mind, love of man and the sun, connection to the God form
