Willi has been my companion since 2002 when I got him from our local animal shelter at the age of about 1.5 years.
He has been my "cache hound" since my very first cache hunt. In fact it was mainly because of him that I started geocaching. I wanted to get away from always walking him on the same paths. Is there a better way to explore new areas than geocaching?
Willi has been present at almost all of my cache finds except my trips to France, Scotland and the USA. At about a dozen occasions he found the cache box before I saw it. He became so used to meet fellow geocachers that he tends to welcome everybody we meet on our walks.
Willis happy face is based on a foto I shot while geocaching. I am still taking bets on what breed or mix he might be.
The line about living without dogs is based on a quote from German actor Heinz Rühmann (1902- 1994) who once said:
"Of course you can live without animals, but what sense does life make then?"
Rühmann owned dogs and adopted some of the dogs that appeared in his movies.
