Tag #13903 - Motor City Muscle

I've wanted a 'non-girly' tag for a long time, and saw a similar design on a T-shirt and asked Team Turtlebone to come up with something for me.

Motor City is the nickname for Detroit, Michigan near my home. I have lived in the area all my life. Although we've had our share of troubles here in Michigan lately, the auto industry was born here and we are proud of that fact.

Like many teenagers in the 1970s, I did my share of street racing in the muscle cars available at the time. Although my boyfriend was a Ford guy, I prefer the underdog, and so always gravitated towards Mopars (nickname for Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth automobiles). At various times I owned a 72 440 Magnum Charger and several different Challengers.

The 'SuperBee' logo was used on the Dodge limited-production Super Bees, a variant of the Coronet in 1968-70 and of the Charger in 1970, after which it was dropped until it reappeared in 2007 as a version of the new Charger SRT-8.

The logo was a variation on the Dodge Scat Pack theme.
