Same design as my Golden Scarab (#6988) and Metal Scarab (#11220) pathtags, but with a rainbow of colors!
An ancient Egyptian symbol for rebirth, the scarab beetle was symbolically as sacred to the Egyptians as the cross is to Christians.
The scarab dung beetles lay eggs in a pellet which they roll along the ground. The ancient Egyptians regarded this action as an image of the sun and its daily travel through the heavens, rolled by a gigantic beetle (The Egyptian god Khepri). It was Khepri that pushed the sun across the sky during the day, disappearing into the night, but always to rise again and be reborn the following day. The scarab beetle became an ancient Egyptian symbol for rebirth and was often featured on amulets.
