Don Williams was born May 27, 1939 in Floydada, Texas. He began his singing career with the folk-pop group Pozo-Seco Singers. After seven years, he broke out on his own in 1971. He has amassed 17 #1 hits since. In 1978, Don was awarded the CMA's Male Vocalist of the Year and his single "Tulsa Time" was named Single of the Year. Besides "Tulsa Time", he was famous for 'Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good", "Some Broken Hearts Never Mend", "I Believe in You", "Louisiana Saturday Night", and my favorite, "I'm just a Country Boy."
His music not only was a hit in the United States, but also had a strong following in Great Britain, Australia, India, and Nigeria.
On February 23, 2010, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
