ONLY THE BEST GO NORTH!
The Wild Prairie Rose
North Dakota designated the wild prairie rose (Rosa blandaRosa arkansana) as the official state flower in 1907. Found growing along North Dakota roadsides, in pastures, and in native meadows, the wild prairie rose has five bright pink petals with a cluster of yellow stamens in the center.
I grew up in North Dakota as a child and still have a deep affection for the state, it's people and it's way of life. When you visit, you immediately realize that life has a different pace in North Dakota. People smile a lot, happiness seems more abundant and there's a strong sense of community among the citizens. Weather can go from 100 degrees in Summer to 45 below zero in the Winters, but that's why we always say.. 'Only the Best Go North. North to Dakota, North Dakota.'
